    Good job!

    Good job!

Just one little correction. Te seven years that you referring to applies to the date of first delinquency (DOFD) not when the consumer talks with a collection agency (CA) or acknowledges the debt. That appears in the FCRA

    We need more …
We need more financial education in our schools. It’s amazing how little we know when we graduate. What could be more important than learning money management?

bynddrvn5; Thanks sharing the truth. If people owe the debt they should pay (we agree). But you have made our day, by shedding the light on what is happening all over America! Knowledge is power. Peace. ~ J.

    I think the debt …
I think the debt collectors are getting worse. A couple of weekends a month, I volunteer for a financial advice group in Los Angeles. Some of the tactics, I have seen in the past few months are disturbing. I have no problem with people collecting debt owed them, but I have seen several cases where there was some billing error. We faxed docs showing the debt was paid and the collection agency refused to cancel the debt? Knowledge is power, keep up the good work!

We are not concerned about the quality of the videos. we are here to help people. I know that really you off, but we don’t care.

In the mean-time, if you want to fight me, email me with your request. Loser.

  • fullflavormenthol says:

    Yeah debt …
Yeah debt collectors are all good people…except when they are harassing you. You want to know my experience? I had collectors calling me about debts that weren’t mine, and only because I happen to be the current owner of the phone number. They didn’t believe I wasn’t the person, would ask me “When am I going to take care of my debt”, call 5 + times a day; and break the law by revealing someone elses information to me.

    Debt collectors are not nice.

  • TheWarOnDebt says:

    Yea, Bankruptcy …
Yea, Bankruptcy sucks. After the Bankruptcy Abuse and Consumer Protections Act of 2005, was signed into Law, Bankruptcy can now haunt you in forever.

If you want credit have you considered a secured secondary market credit card? There are some honest ones out there. All have massive fees though.

If you find a secured Credit Card that reports to the big three CB’s, it can help you But I’m not a big believer in Credit in the first place.

    Great post. ~ J.

  • TheWarOnDebt says:

    Dear …
Dear WhiteTrashMessiah, that’s our problem as well. DT’s are not normally nice people. They do love to scream. That’s why we say hang up the phone.

Meeting their quota is all that they are about. They will do and say anything to do it. They dehumanize people to make them feel small and fearful. The DT’s practices are heinous!

Great points. great comment. Happy Thanksgiving.

    ~ J.
    P.S. Please don’t “Rick-Roll” me – LOL?

We are sure Thankful for people like you!

    The question is, …
The question is, why did the Veteran go to Court alone? We realize this is the real world that’s why we are Independent Pre-Paid Legal Associates as well. An Attorney could have helped the Veteran.

If you were a memeber of Pre-Paid Legal, you’d have 24-hour access to an attorney if you’re ever detained or arrested. We all know we have rights, and now, if ever faced with detainment, you’ll know who to call to make sure your rights are represented.

if u dont pay in NH …
if u dont pay in NH the judge acts collector he will bleed u dry. i witnessed a veteran get beat up by judge he had a rebutal for every excuse under the sun. this is all pretty on video but real world? i pleaded guilty on a traffic ticket when i saw judge and if u dont go to court u get capias u go to jail.real facts. the judge had vet go to vet admin center to get help for a job and the judge was a vet too. he made the vet in his 60’s look like a bum i think he said amateur nite after

    F.Y.I — they …
F.Y.I — they legally only have to send you that first letter that says they’re trying to collect a bill for xxx.xx amt. and unfortunately, it’s up to you to get that info from the original creditor. sorry bud.

  • TheWarOnDebt says:

    What’s pretty sad …
What’s pretty sad is that the same companies that have been ripping people off for years, are now facing the same realities of the Middle-Class American. If I did loan someone money I wouldn’t change the “terms” of the contract to suit my own greed. I would live up to the contract.

Since, you’re a “Collector” whom did you loan money to? Why are you calling people regarding business that you had nothing to do with. Call yourself what you want, but we call them Debt Terrorist.

  • lillankan says:

    Its pretty sad. I …
Its pretty sad. I am a collector. What i wonder is why folks borrow money and buy things that they can’t? I am sure if someone took your money, and didn’t pay you back, you would obviously call them, “take them to court” in order to get your money back. Not all collectors are bad people, we strive to offer the best customer service, and get people back on track with their bills. We do this so that we can stop the calls, protect YOUR credit and YOUR NAME, and go back to your normal life.

  • TheWarOnDebt says:

    Dear Ch3mical, you …
Dear Ch3mical, you are right. Alot of people on youtube don’t know what the real world is like and the other ones saying “pay your bills” are just debt collectors.

    Great point!

  • TheWarOnDebt says:

    Thank you Ms. …
    Thank you Ms. SatinQueen!

  • WhiteTrashMessiah says:

    Problem is, many …
Problem is, many collectors DON’T abide by the laws. In the past, I’ve had DT’s call late at night, verbally abuse me, threaten me, *scream* at me, ignore statements that I will only deal with the original creditor or ignored legal cease and desist letters… ALL OF THE ABOVE IS ILLEGAL. Yet the DT’s continue in order to meet their quotas and preserve THEIR jobs. The hands of the DT’s are NOT clean and they’re taught to dehumanize people. Disgusting.

  • WhiteTrashMessiah says:

    Sadly, it’s more …
Sadly, it’s more than just a 7 year stigma. The fact that you had a bankruptcy at ALL will come up for years after that 7 year period and help creditors DENY you credit. People are people and they’ll look at that bankruptcy fact for years after the “7 year limit”. i went through it and my rating is neither good nor bad, but no one will look at me for a credit card to get my rating going again, 11 YEARS AFTER the fact.

    I received a …
I received a collection letter stating I owed more then $200 for a cell phone bill. I sent a validation letter, within just a couple of days of the request reaching 30 days, I received a single sheet of paper of a “bill” that was a copy not the original that could’ve easily been made from a computer. None of the requests I made, including how the amount they say I owe was calculated, proof they can legally collect in my state etc. so I sent a second request…how many chances should I give them?
