My husband just lost his job and we have three kids, I am afraid things are going to get worse before they get better. We were just starting to get out of debt. Is the companies that can help us now?

there are companies that can help you for a fee … and some are not exactly worthy of it … your best bet would be to call the creditors yourself and let them know of the setback … most will work with you …

If you are not working you need to start.Try taking care of a few kids in your own home if you can not get out to work. Can you cook or sew?Can your husband watch the kids at night while you work partime?Any payments you can make are better than none at all.Your husband can find a job doing something while he continues interviewing.Dont get bummed, you can pull thru but you have to put the petal to the metal!!!!

There are definately some free counseling services that you might find out about through your local church. Good thinking to get started now. With unemployment so low right now, it’s a decent time to find a job. Good luck.

There are companies that negotiate your debts for you. You end up paying much less, even after paying out to that company, but it seriously messes up your credit. Here’s how it works: you stop paying the credit card companies and start paying into a fund managed by the debt relief company. While your money builds up in the fund, the creditors charge off your debts, send them to collections, and get desperate enough negotiate. The debt relief company does the negotiating and pays the creditor from the fund.

Here’s the downside: Your credit will suffer. Badly. For the first several months, your creditors will call you, trying to get their payment in full. Eventually everything will quiet down.

You have to decide what is more important… getting out of debt or having a good credit rating?
