Im contemplating using them for my credit card debt, wondering how past experiences have been

Hi,

I used ”National Relief” to settle my debt and avoid bankruptcy. They managed to reduce my debt up to 58% and improve my credit score. It’s legitimate . I came across this company on NBC News Special Edition. Check it out here:

Take Charge America is a referral service sponsored by the credit card industry to their traditional service, which is Consumer Credit Counseling Services (CCCS).
This is a reputable, non profit debt management service. They can put you on a repayment plan that involves closing all your accounts, and reducing your interest rates and payments to make it easier to pay off your debts (but not settlements for less). This can be a good plan if you are not way past due….near or at the point of default on your credit cards.
If you are near or at the point of default, then it’s really better to try to settle the debts for less up front by yourself.
    - This program is a non profit service that is sponsored and funded by the credit card industry…so keep this fact in mind for any advise that they give you. My one concern about this organization is that they might counsel people to not file for Chapter 7 bankruptcy when this might be a better solution.

Have you tried a book on
Credit and Debt Repair from your bookstore?
All the tips and tricks on how to negotiate, settle, reduce payments or interest are there.
These books are worth their weight in gold.

You ca also try the federally approved agency
National Foundation for Consumer Credit Councelling = NFCC.org
This is a non-profit agency that will help you at no cost.
The counselors can contact your creditors and work out a plan.
IF they put you on a DMP program = dept management program
The maximum cost is about $25/ month – but only if you can afford it.

Be careful with these debt management companies.
They are there to make money FROM you.
Some will allow your bills to go unpaid for months while putting what you pay in their pockets.
Most people end up in court anyway since the card company may not settle.
This can devastate your credit even further.
Notice – they will have no guarantees.
